REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal Care Pearly WhitesCurrently most of the packaging for toothpaste is plastic. How can you advocate for more alternatives through your purchasing power and influence in community?
James Danoff-Burg 7/31/2019 5:01 PMpurchasing power may be helpful? I don't really have a solid answer to this one! -
James Danoff-Burg 7/31/2019 2:58 PMHere's another one that is pretty fantastic, highlighting the inevitable stall tactics of those benefiting from the status quo -
James Danoff-Burg 7/31/2019 2:57 PMI wanted to share my favorite cartoon about climate change again, which is of course germane to plastic production too! -
James Danoff-Burg 7/31/2019 2:52 PMWahoo! We are up to 38th! Go Team TLD - let's finish strong! We could pass a few more organizations in the last few hours! -
James Danoff-Burg 7/31/2019 7:07 AMLast day! Let's all check in and do everything we can today to reduce plastics! -
James Danoff-Burg 7/30/2019 9:01 AMHey folks, Angie just calculated that we are doing much better per person than the leaders! Maryland (#1) has 131.94 points per person, Aquarium of the Pacific (#5) has 145.62, and we have 200.53 points per person (#39)! -
James Danoff-Burg 7/29/2019 7:10 PMWinchell's donuts don't provide plastics as the default. And their VEGAN Boston Creme donuts are righteous! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Raise Money For a NonprofitWhat are organizations in your region doing to address plastic pollution or other related issues? How can you support them?
James Danoff-Burg 7/29/2019 7:09 PMWe don't have any organizations here in the Coachella Valley that I am aware of that are addressing plastic pollution on a regular basis. There are some that do organizations oze periodic pickups or cleanings, often OHV participants are the leads on these. We need to support these informal projects by reaching out and participating! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Host a House PartyWhat are the benefits of hosting a house party related to getting to know your guests, connecting them to the cause you are focusing on, and building your community?
James Danoff-Burg 7/29/2019 7:07 PMThe thing that I though was most useful of the house party - really our all staff meeting - was that it allowed those who were into the challenge to ID each other, creating a sense of community. -
James Danoff-Burg 7/29/2019 4:49 PMHey ho Team TLD! Please be certain to check in today and through the last few days! We are rising as an organization in the team rankings!
