Chrise's actions
Lifestyle
Natural Fibers
When available, I will purchase clothing made with natural fibers, such as cotton, linen, or wool, rather than synthetic fibers.
Food
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases, including produce bags.
Food
Skip the Straw
I will keep 3 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Lifestyle
Travel Smart
If traveling, I will bring my own plastic free items (water bottle, grocery bags, collapsible food containers, utensils, straws, etc.) with me.
Food
Use Reusable Utensils
I will keep 5 plastic cutlery out of the landfill per day by using my own reusable cutlery.
Food
Use Reusable Containers
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Personal Care
Just Say No
I will avoid buying toxic plastics, including polycarbonate, polystyrene and polyvinyl.
Pets
All Natural Pet Toys
I will give my pets natural alternatives to toys like femur bones and antlers, canvas, natural rubber, hemp, rope or cotton toys. Or I will make our own toys from recycled items found in our home!

REFLECTION QUESTIONPets All Natural Pet ToysIn what ways is supplying your pet with all natural pet toys better for your pet, better for you, and better for the environment?
Chrise Dagoglou 7/19/2019 6:26 PMI think that giving my dog natural pet toys, like bones, gives my dog more entertainment. Unlike other manufactured toys, I find that my dog likes to chew natural toys more. By not buying the plastic toys, I am reducing my negative impact of the environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable BagsHow difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Chrise Dagoglou 7/19/2019 6:24 PMI find it easier to use reusable bags and containers than it is plastic ones. I think just being able to have them around and being able to wash and reuse them makes it easier. This is mostly because they aren't things that you could have to much of. I find them to be more practical and easier to grab and go. -
Chrise Dagoglou 7/11/2019 9:15 AMI'm currently ordering more reusable straws to have around the house and keep with me when I leave my house. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Skip the StrawHave you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.
Chrise Dagoglou 7/11/2019 9:12 AMI see more and people with reusable straws around. I first started with my family by buying stainless steel metal straws. I also started to see more and more people with different variations of reusable straws on social media as well as around my community. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable UtensilsHow can you be an advocate for using resusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable cutlery, and how can you convince them of the need for change?
Chrise Dagoglou 7/11/2019 9:10 AMI'm bringing some of my reusable items around with me and teach people about the impact of these reusable items. Hopefully they will also share this new information with other people. -
