REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Minimize PackagingWith the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?
Katy D 7/08/2019 7:19 AMIt is actually amazing the amount of packaging at the grocery store. It seems like most of it is duplicative and unnecessary if items were sold separately instead of in a six-pack or in multi-packs. Most of it is also relatively flimsy and easily picked up by wind and scattered about the neighborhood as trash. Even if the plastic is placed in trash cans, there is no weight to prevent them from being airborne. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use a Reusable Mug / Collapsible CupGreat job on getting rid of your disposable cup habit! How does it make you feel? What's next on your list to reduce your waste?
Katy D 7/01/2019 10:34 AMIt feels great to reduce my footprint! Changing habits requires some level of mindfulness as it requires you to be aware and to plan ahead.
I'm not sure what's next on my list. The plastic I do have, I try to reuse as much as possible. And I try to limit the use of plastics at the grocery stores, but sometimes I run out of my reusable produce/shopping bags. I think what's next is planning ways to reduce plastic packaging for foods.
