Lin's actions
Community
Keep My Community Clean
I will pick up 10 piece(s) of litter each day.
Lifestyle
Travel Smart
If traveling, I will bring my own plastic free items (water bottle, grocery bags, collapsible food containers, utensils, straws, etc.) with me.
Lifestyle
Complete a Waste Audit
I will conduct a waste audit - including recyclables and compost - to understand how much waste I create and where I can reduce the most.
Food
Use Reusable Utensils
I will keep 1 plastic cutlery out of the landfill per day by using my own reusable cutlery.
Food
Use Reusable Containers
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Personal Care
Brusha Brusha Brusha
I will replace my plastic toothbrush with a bamboo toothbrush.
Community
Raise Money For a Nonprofit
I will raise money to support a nonprofit dedicated to plastic pollution reduction.
Family
Discover Together
I will spend 10 minutes educating my family on the basics of living a reduced/no-plastic lifestyle.
Family
Provide the Alternatives
I will provide daily plastic free alternatives (straws, water bottles, cuttlery, bar soap, bamboo toothbrushes, etc.) for my family to use.
Food
Advocate For More Food Packaging Options
I will advocate for alternatives to single use packaging at local grocery stores, markets, or work.
Family
Swap the Snacks
I will swap out 4 prepackaged snacks a day for fresh fruits or veggies.

Lin Corad 7/11/2019 6:57 AMStopped using a plastic lining for our compost bin. Wish Burrtec picked up food waste. Using the garbage disposal more. Is that good?-
James Danoff-Burg 7/12/2019 9:06 AMgreat question! I think that it is better, as it gets decomposed in the same manner as our, um, digestive by products do too. It certainly keeps it out of the landfill. I wonder if we could each bring our organics to places that do accept them for decomposition?

Lin Corad 7/04/2019 7:50 AMParticipating in this challenge does make me more aware of my imprint on the environment. Also, it has increased my awareness of what others are NOT doing.
