It is very challenging to shop for foods that are not wrapped or packaged in plastic. We are trying to buy liquids packaged in paper cartons rather than plastic. Once, the search for non plastic packaged foods, I saw just how much plastic we actually use. It was very depressing. Starbucks is way behind in replacing their plastic straws for paper, and their plastic cups. We are going to purchase bamboo utensils and try to remember to refuse plastic straws.

Do an inventory of your kitchen to see how many single-use plastics you've used in the past. What are some resuable alternatives to these commonly used products? What would your impact be if you switched all the single-use products from your inventory to reusable?

We don’t have a lot of single use plastics on hand. However, we occasionally by foods contained in single use plastics, and we are committed to reducing this use.

Yep.  Especially if you are taking food to an event or to share and then you have the added advantage of not worrying if you get your container back.

We have noticed more restaurants using paper straws by aardvark. This is wonderful to see.
