REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Shop the Bulk BinsHow has buying bulk impacted the quality of the food you receive? Why do you think Western society relies more on prepackaged foods rather than buying in bulk?
Jane Clifton 7/23/2019 8:36 AMI don’t notice a reduction in the quality of food (coffee, popcorn, grains, and nuts) that I have purchased so far. There are only a couple of stores that sell bulk near my home. I’m fortunate to have a car to drive to these stores. Society may rely less on packaged food if bulk was more readily available. -
Jane Clifton 7/09/2019 7:21 AMI struggled a bit this past week. I went on a two day canoe trip and the company we go through does not allow glass containers of any kind on the river... makes sense. So, I had to leave my reusable glass at home. I reused my plastic sandwich, food, and trash bags. I’ve also used plastic while attending 4th of July festivities and relying on fast food. I’m hoping that I’ll get back on track now that the holiday is over and I’m setting in back home. 🤞 -
Jane Clifton 6/11/2019 9:18 AMThis sounds like a fun challenge! I’ve been trying to minimize single use plastic in my home for a few months. I’m doing pretty well with my lunches and food storage. I’m looking forward to finding new ways to remove these plastic items from my life.
