REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Share My ActionsIn what ways is social media an effective tool for sharing your values?
Nicole Chilton 7/31/2019 2:30 PMYou can share your thoughts and ideas. People can see them and start discussions. -
Nicole Chilton 7/30/2019 10:45 AMThe month is almost over, I thought my hardest challenge would be my straws but it's being pretty easy refusing the straw. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Estimate Your Plastic Consumption and Go #PlasticNeutralWhat did you find out about your plastic consumption by using the calculator? What did or didn't surprise you?
Nicole Chilton 7/30/2019 10:43 AMEven when you are reducing your plastic consumption we are still using so much. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Homemade CleanersWhat did you learn by making your own cleaning products? What is the biggest difference in making vs buying?
Nicole Chilton 7/28/2019 5:44 PMThe big difference in making your own clean is you know exactly what is in the product your using. Most the recipes I found used things you already had in the house like vinger, baking soda, and alcohol. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Travel EatingWas this action easy or difficult to do? How did it change your travel experience?
Nicole Chilton 7/26/2019 8:32 PMTaking food is not too hard for road trips, it's actually better to have options in reach especially for the kids. We enjoyed trying some of the local stops while we traveled and not eating in the car is always a plus. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Watch a DocumentaryWhich documentary did you choose to watch? What did you learn?
Nicole Chilton 7/26/2019 8:27 PMI watched A Plastic Wave. The amount of plastic being manufactured each year is crazy. I had no idea and plastic doesn't just disappear when you throw it out. We must refuse, reuse, reduce and recycle. Plus as a community start cleaning up the plastic especially out of our water. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable Water BottlesUsing the links provided, investigate the bottling practices of water corporations. There have been many cases where the water rights of the local people have been violated or even completely disregarded when a corporation decides to bottle water from a particular water source. How can you advocate for those who have been harmed by this bottling process?
Nicole Chilton 7/26/2019 7:26 AMStop buying one time use water bottles and encourage others to do the same. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Skip the StrawHave you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.
Nicole Chilton 7/26/2019 7:24 AMI have noticed more people using reusable straws and refillable cups. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Naked BinsDoes changing the lining of your waste bin change the kind or amount of trash you produce?
Nicole Chilton 7/26/2019 7:20 AMI don't know if it's changed amount but I have noticed we recycle more. With the small brown paper bags as trash cans, you see what's being thrown away and it's easy to move it to recycling instead. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Natural FibersWhat are the benefits (to people, animals, and the environment) of purchasing clothes made with natural fibers?
Nicole Chilton 7/26/2019 7:17 AMNatural fibers are more comfortable to wear and they are not covered in chemicals.
