Brought my own container to a restaurant for my leftovers...although, the place does use paper containers.

Took a glass container with a snap lid to a restaurant last night for my leftovers, got a funny look from the server. Lol The restaurant does use paper boxes which I think are great and much better than those styrofoam containers.

I’m doing well on the challenge only because I’ve  been well aware of how much packaging we use and not all of it is recyclable. I use glass jars for storage for most of what we store and I only buy what I need for one or two meals.

    Food Shop the Bulk Bins
How has buying bulk impacted the quality of the food you receive? Why do you think Western society relies more on prepackaged foods rather than buying in bulk?

When buying in bulk, I don’t have to store much in my pantry and refrigerator and thus, I have less to throw away or store and I know my food is always fresh.
We as a nation need to go back to basics and stop depending on so many prepackaged foods to lessen the impact of plastic packaging.

I’ve reduced or eliminated buying products with plastic or non-recyclable packaging for quite sometime, but this challenge will make it more apparent where I need to reduce my plastic use and waste even more.
