I will make my environmental actions visible by posting to my social media networks.
Food
Use Reusable Containers
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Community
Sign a Petition
I will sign a petition in support of a plastic-related initiative in my state/province.

Food
Advocate For More Food Packaging Options
I will advocate for alternatives to single use packaging at local grocery stores, markets, or work.
Personal Care
That Was a Close Shave
I will replace my disposable razors with steel razors. Why not try using hair conditioner instead of shaving foam for that baby smooth feel?
Food
Minimize Packaging
I will purchase food items with the least amount of packaging.
Food
Skip the Straw
I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Community
Estimate Your Plastic Consumption and Go #PlasticNeutral
I will visit rePurpose website, complete the 3-minute plastic consumption calculator, and explore how I can reBalance my annual plastic footprint.
Lifestyle
Watch a Documentary
I will watch a documentary film about waste with family and friends and talk about what we learned.

Celina Burgueño 7/31/2019 5:33 PMGoodnight PFJ! So proud of this team -
Celina Burgueño 7/31/2019 8:37 AMIt’s the end of the month, but not the end of the challenge! Glad to go out on a high note and be able to complete a few of those challenges that require a weekend shopping trip. Still working on the razors and some of the larger behavioral changes. But, see you in a year and you better watch your back, plastics. #HotPlasticSwass -
Celina Burgueño 7/30/2019 9:17 AMOne more day! Huge Shout Out to us for making #2 in the NATION!! And to all the people making it happen, especially my coworker Jeff, I am so proud of him and all the changes he has made this month!🥳 -
Celina Burgueño 7/29/2019 9:59 AMSo happy this month with my reusable sandwich bags! I treated myself to a set in shades of blue and have been using them every day in my lunchbox. Not only do they work great, they are fashion!!-
Celina Burgueño 7/31/2019 8:25 AMI’m using tupperwares for chips and the bags for sandwiches and bread. Working a lot better! -
Zoo New England Team 7/30/2019 9:31 AMHow are your chips? The last ones made them soggy, right?? -

Celina Burgueño 7/27/2019 8:59 AMOn the war path writing letters today. I got Toms of Maine done (for you, Erica!) this morning, and now I’m going for Stop n Shop, and a few more before the end of this month! Trying to be encouraging and light-hearted, but reminding these companies that making the change is key.-
Erica Farrell 7/27/2019 2:20 PMYES!!!! You’re my hero!! I bet it was pointed and well worded. Can’t wait to see their new non plastic containers. Send me the info on where to send my letter too!!!

Celina Burgueño 7/26/2019 9:25 AMJust a few more days left of July, but don’t forget this is just a month of change for a year of action! -
Celina Burgueño 7/25/2019 10:32 AMTalking with cousins today who are afraid of tap water and live the plastic water bottle life. Can’t always change minds, but I think a filter pitcher is on the Christmas list now. -
Celina Burgueño 7/24/2019 11:09 AMExcited to be with my sister this weekend and helping her make plastic Free choices. -
Celina Burgueño 7/23/2019 9:39 AMSo proud of ZNE for continuing to climb the ladder! -
Celina Burgueño 7/21/2019 10:33 AMSo excited to be able to go plastic free at the local farm stand today. I was debating over mushrooms and mint for an upcoming BBQ, and was disappointed in the shrink-wrap everywhere. Then I looked a little longer and BAM....free choice mushrooms for my reusable produce bag and a bunch of fresh mint tied with a little twist-tie. Felt good to finally pull it off!-
Jeff Prasnal 7/21/2019 1:19 PMWELL done Celina. Way to hold off and you were rewarded for it. I hope they are the best tasting mushrooms ever
