    Community Keep My Community Clean
How does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?

My sense of pride when picking up litter comes from improving the lives of animals in my community as well as the lives of animals throughout the Patuxent River watershed. I feel a deeper connection to my community because I'm improving it from a visual perspective, but the most rewarding aspect is the environmental impact.

In what ways is social media an effective tool for sharing your values?

Social media allows me as an individual to disperse conservation ideas to a wide audience that I am able to remain in contact with. If I need, I can quickly and easily follow-up with people interested in my conservation ideas. It also allows me to organize community or group conservation events quicker than by word-of-mouth.

What are the benefits (to people, animals, and the environment) of purchasing clothes made with natural fibers?

Animals/Environmental: Clothing made of natural fibers prevent harmful microplastics that may shed off clothing made of synthetic materials in the washing machine or dryer.

Buying only the things that I need for my health and safety makes budgeting feel that much more achievable. It'll be nice to see how much progress I make towards this goal by the end of the month.
