REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
David Burgan 7/05/2019 2:53 PMMy sense of pride when picking up litter comes from improving the lives of animals in my community as well as the lives of animals throughout the Patuxent River watershed. I feel a deeper connection to my community because I'm improving it from a visual perspective, but the most rewarding aspect is the environmental impact. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Share My ActionsIn what ways is social media an effective tool for sharing your values?
David Burgan 7/05/2019 10:52 AMSocial media allows me as an individual to disperse conservation ideas to a wide audience that I am able to remain in contact with. If I need, I can quickly and easily follow-up with people interested in my conservation ideas. It also allows me to organize community or group conservation events quicker than by word-of-mouth. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Natural FibersWhat are the benefits (to people, animals, and the environment) of purchasing clothes made with natural fibers?
David Burgan 7/05/2019 10:48 AMAnimals/Environmental: Clothing made of natural fibers prevent harmful microplastics that may shed off clothing made of synthetic materials in the washing machine or dryer. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Buy Only What I NeedAs you have reduced your spending, what have you noticed about your 'health and safety' purchasing habits? How might this change your longer term purchasing decisions?
David Burgan 7/05/2019 8:09 AMBuying only the things that I need for my health and safety makes budgeting feel that much more achievable. It'll be nice to see how much progress I make towards this goal by the end of the month.
