This challenge is lighting a fire under our family to start learning about using the compost bin we bought last year.

It's amazing how much thinking about reducing plastic makes you conscious of other ways you can be helping the environment.

I received the two reusable straws I ordered today. I'm so excited to use them!

Not only is the challenge eliminating my use of plastic straws, but it's also reducing the amount of soda I drink when I go out because I don't have a lid and straw to be able to take it with me. Maybe I'll lose a little weight buy the end!

It's funny how much people just expect you to take plastic bags when you shop. I bought a few easily carried items and had to tell the cashier several times that I didn't need a bag. She looked at me like I had lost my mind, which actually made me feel prouder because I know it made her think!

Agreed! I love seeing how surprised people are when I say I can carry what I bought to my car in my hands without a bag.

So excited to get started with the challenge in a few days! In the meantime I'm ready for the weekly farmers market today with my reusable bag to shop for local goods and produce.
