You'll be an Plastic Free Ecochallenge 2019 expert in no time!
I will skip all plastic silverware and sides in individual plastic containers (eg salad dressing and condiments). At sit down restaurants I’ll try to remember to ask for no single-use plastics (straws, condiments etc.). The hard part will be remembering to speak up at the beginning, even before they deliver my glass of water with a plastic straw I don’t want!
I will write 1 letter(s) or email(s) per day to a public official or company to advocate for planet-friendly policies.
I will replace my soaps, shampoos, and conditions with either a bar or refillable option.
I will purchase beauty products that are packaged in sustainable packaging.
I will purchase toothpaste in an aluminum tube or in a glass jar or make my own!
I will use deodorant either from a bar or a jar or I will make my own.
I will keep 0 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
I will purchase produce items without plastic packaging.
When available, I will purchase clothing made with natural fibers, such as cotton, linen, or wool, rather than synthetic fibers.
If traveling, I will bring my own plastic free items (water bottle, grocery bags, collapsible food containers, utensils, straws, etc.) with me.
I will use a rubber glove to remove pet hair from clothes, carpets and furniture.
