  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Use Reusable Water Bottles
Using the links provided, investigate the bottling practices of water corporations. There have been many cases where the water rights of the local people have been violated or even completely disregarded when a corporation decides to bottle water from a particular water source. How can you advocate for those who have been harmed by this bottling process?

I will never understand drinking all the "flavored" waters at a price higher than if you simply created it at home.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Buy Unpackaged Produce
Why do you think these produce products started amassing so much plastic packaging? Who is the plastic packaging really serving -- the consumer, the producer, or someone else?

Plastic wrap helps to preserve foods.  We no longer buy food  that we will consume in a day or two, but rather buy in quantities to last for a week or more.  Unfortunately, this winds up wasting food. Larger food purchases results in our needing to shop only every 7-10 days instead of making more frequent shopping trips; this saves the consumer time.
