REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Skip the StrawHave you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.
Julie Best 7/02/2019 5:29 PMI have seen several people either turn down straws and drink from the cup or whip out their own reusable straw. I usually whip out my own 😉 -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Julie Best 7/02/2019 5:27 PMI do not feel it connects me more with my community but it does connect me more with nature. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Make Your OwnHow do you feel about being more involved in the food preparation process? Joyful, overwhelmed, engaged, empowered? What are the benefits of choosing to process or produce your own food instead of buying it pre-processed?
Julie Best 7/02/2019 5:11 PMI enjoy cooking with fresh ingredients, especially from the garden. I minimize my carbon footprint by not having to go to the store as often. And I know exactly what theyve been treated with, nothing!-
Julie Best 7/02/2019 7:39 PMMmm yes it does! -
Angie Adkin-Miot 7/02/2019 7:10 PMEverything tastes better when it comes from your own garden...yum yum summertime :)

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Plant a GardenBesides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?
Julie Best 7/02/2019 5:05 PMI have a little urban garden and today I planted some pumpkin. It is incredibly delicious and rewarding to plant, grow, harvest and enjoy fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. The whole process also offers a peaceful mindfulness while I'm out earthing. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable UtensilsHow can you be an advocate for using resusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable cutlery, and how can you convince them of the need for change?
Julie Best 7/02/2019 4:55 PMPlaces designed for convenience is where I generally see plastic cutlery. I have my own nifty travel utensil set. I absolutely love it! It even comes with 2 metal straws and cleaning brushes. I get all kinds of comments, questions and kudos when others see me use them. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Watch a DocumentaryWhich documentary did you choose to watch? What did you learn?
Julie Best 7/02/2019 4:32 PMThe Great Pacific Garbage Patch Is Not What You Think It Is, Season 1 Episode 2. I learned that with all the trash swirling that HAS been discovered, 99% of plastic produced is unaccounted for. Now I'm wondering where it is..-
