Carrie Bassett 7/08/2019 5:53 PMSo I feel like I'm really trying, but eating out a lot makes it hard. And I'm noticing a lot more plastic that I use and dispose of that I never noticed before. It's hard, but every little bit helps!!-
Sandi Phillips 7/15/2019 11:49 AMIt's all about progress, not perfection! Eating out is hard. Scot and I have been splitting meals at restaurants and that helps us not needing to take leftovers home. A lot of the plastic I use comes from being unprepared by not bringing a water bottle while I'm out, or going to a cookout and not bringing my own utensils!

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable BagsHow difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Carrie Bassett 7/07/2019 4:31 PMI even managed to do it at a Walgreens after Sarah and I walked to it (about 1 mile each way)! Healthier and saved on gas and carbon emissions!!-
Kay Devlin 7/17/2019 12:48 PMgood idea! I am close to some of the same stores so I am going to walk next time to get what I need instead of driving! -

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Skip the StrawHave you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.
Carrie Bassett 7/02/2019 8:49 AMI missed this by one straw today because the waitress brought my straw in my drink. I need to remember to ask for no straws. -
Carrie Bassett 7/01/2019 1:47 PMI'm so excited to start this challenge and see how much plastic we can divert from the landfill. I know one of my personal problems is taking plastic bags from smaller stores without thinking about it (pharmacy, the mall, etc.). I've done really well with the bigger stores because I think about it, but the smaller stores I just forget. My goal is to fix this!-
Sandi Phillips 7/02/2019 10:19 AMI need to get back into the habit. I'm pretty good about it when I do my big "grocery shop" day, but not as good when it's just running in to grab something. It's extra hard when you're in a hurry, too!
