Even at 11.5 years old, Hazel brings a smile to our faces the minute we walk in the door. Mention the word "leash" and her tail shakes her whole body.  She's spoiled, but in a good way. She is definitely the joy of the house.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Buy Unpackaged Produce
Why do you think these produce products started amassing so much plastic packaging? Who is the plastic packaging really serving -- the consumer, the producer, or someone else?

I think it's supposed to protect the producer (germs!) and then the consumer (germs!).  But this might also go to the relative ease of putting produce in your grocery cart in a bag so all the produce roll does not around and become separated making it difficult once you get to check out.

I started using metal straws last year and have come to keep them with me everywhere I go.
