    (1) I need to be more proactive about instructing waitstaff to Skip the Straw! (2) Mason Jars are a great go-to for both food containers and beverage containers (hot or cold). A classic paper lunch bag keeps them from clinking around in a backpack on my 1.25 mile hike to the office from commuter parking. No plastic involved and paper bags can...

Why so many zero-waste meals? Gardening, baby! Daily grazing... no petro-based fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides, no petro-based transportation, no petro-based packaging! Only thing 'petro-based' about my meals is dishwashing liquid and its packaging...  Any suggestions?

OK... I so misplaced my stainless steel travel mug in my travels this weekend... disposable cups and/or buying a readily available replacement reuseable plastic mug for a quick coffee hit on my way to work this morning did not sit well with me. My plastic-free and waste-free solution? A PINT-SIZED MASON JAR! Not insulated, but it's too hot for...

This month, I used bar soap for the first time since living on my own. I have a tendency to be pretty attached to my Bath and Body Works shower gel, so switching to bar soap was actually a rougher transition than I thought. But, I think if I keep looking for one that I really like, a good scent or really moisturizing, I'd be more likely to...

I checked off a few of the actions I want to take this month but still have a lot to do! I posted about what I've done so far in my blog (https://www.laurenofalltrades.blog/2019/07/pfj-19-2.html) and shared it on Facebook to inspire my friends & family!

I'm trying out a Lush deodorant bar and a bar conditioner. I've been a fan for over a year of bar shampoo, so I'm hoping these will be just as successful!

Just visited NYC for the weekend and this was an easy task there. Not so much on my route from home to the office, which is a good thing.

Love developing new habits. I did have a 'fail' one day when I forgot to tell the wait staff 'No Straw' at a restaurant though... need to be more proactive about that!

Hmmm. I wish there were a longer 'you can no longer check-in' time. Had a wonderful wi-fi- free weekend and got dinged for it here. Oh well. Well worth the internet-free mental health refresher!!!!
