Cost effective- and yes, I will continue to do this
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Lifestyle Homemade Cleaners
What did you learn by making your own cleaning products? What is the biggest difference in making vs buying?

I use vinegar and lemon for most of my cleaning in my kitchen already!

Traveling with your own reusables isn't hard- most of us have our own water bottle or coffee cup- add in a few other things, like containers of snacks and having a set of travel shampoo bottles- you are good to go
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Plant a Garden
Besides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?

    Crystal Steinborn's avatar
    Crystal Steinborn 7/23/2019 6:00 AM
Butterflies and bees are benefiting, as well as other insects. I do have herbs that are mosquito repellents
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Use Reusable Containers
How can you think outside the box (or bag!) when it comes to disposables?

    Crystal Steinborn's avatar
    Crystal Steinborn 7/23/2019 5:59 AM
I am looking at the reusable food wraps and minimizing paper towels- going back to cloth. It also impacts spending as well as waste
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

With the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?

    Crystal Steinborn's avatar
    Crystal Steinborn 7/23/2019 5:58 AM
I despise single use anything- so wasteful!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Crystal Steinborn 7/23/2019 5:58 AM
we have talked about putting in a kitchen, complete with full size sink- I am pushing this with cabinets with a full set of dishes
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Use Reusables at Work
It is often true that we only have control over our own actions and not the collective community. How can you lead by example when it comes to switching disposables for reusable dishes in your community?

    Crystal Steinborn 7/23/2019 5:57 AM
I think the more people see others will inspire people. Talking with friends and family has a ripple effect too
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Use a Reusable Mug / Collapsible Cup
Great job on getting rid of your disposable cup habit! How does it make you feel? What's next on your list to reduce your waste?

    Crystal Steinborn's avatar
    Crystal Steinborn 7/23/2019 5:56 AM
I prefer my own cup- I also prefer my own beverages- I love my lightly sweet iced tea! I am researching other ways to minimize my waste in my home
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I have seen some with reusable straws, I have seen some decline the straws and I am slowly seeing more paper instead of plastic straws
