Diane Sawyer
"As difficult as it is, my mission is to educate all my neighbors, friends, family - all new acquaintances with Shaklee, the company that can truly make a difference. I know this because it cleaned up a dirty Lake Conescu, N.Y. and helped plant a million trees in Africa with Dr. Wangari Maathai."

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Shop the Bulk BinsHow has buying bulk impacted the quality of the food you receive? Why do you think Western society relies more on prepackaged foods rather than buying in bulk?
Diane Sawyer 7/15/2019 5:29 PMIt's wonderful not using lots of packaged veggies, just buy the fruit and veggies raw, unpackaged, and put them in my reusable bag -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Minimize PackagingWith the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?

Diane Sawyer 7/15/2019 4:27 PMI try to keep my own house as best as I can, "green", using only Shaklee products when I can - from dishwasher soap, our wonderful chemical- free, perfume free drier sheets, laundry soap, shampoo, hair conditioner, hand wash, deoderant and our multivitamins - a company whose history began in 1915, with Dr. Forrest Shaklee. The company was created in 1956. -
Diane Sawyer 7/15/2019 4:24 PMAs mentioned in previous question, it can become truly frustrating when it is still a routine event for the kids in our local small school to have to go out and pick up all the litter found in the ditches on a regular basis. -
Diane Sawyer 7/15/2019 4:23 PMPlease see previous answer as it answers this question. -
Diane Sawyer 7/15/2019 4:22 PMLike I mentioned in the previous question, it is truly a challenge sometimes to get peoples' interest, to make them see how critical it is that we not only start at home, but that we become passionate with our families and neighbors, getting them involved. Sadly, I still see that the kids in our local small community take a day (maybe more than one a year) to walk around the school and our little shopping mart to pick up garbage and bottles, cans, etc. -
Diane Sawyer 7/15/2019 4:19 PMAs mentioned earlier, I have always been aware of what is happening around us - the air, the water, the soil. I have Aboriginal blood (not a lot) in me, but I am sure this is where my passion began. Across Canada, northern Ontario, the prairies -lakes, rivers in the Arctic, the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans are compromised. Canada is a beautiful country but serious pollution, the air, the soil and the waters - each of us must make a commitment and set a good example to our children and grandchildren just what their world will be if they don't take steps right now.-
Pamela Ng 7/22/2019 5:05 PMOne time, I was among youg adults volunteering at an organic farm that perports Perma-culture theories. I just blurted out " I am old enough to remember good practices from young, and too old to not tell it to everyone!"

Diane Sawyer 7/15/2019 4:15 PMAs a senior, I fear for my grandchildren, my great grandson and what is happening to our Mother Earth. My biggest challenge is sharing my deep concern with others in the community, even my own family. How can we make an impact in the community when our own families do not take this seriously. -
Diane Sawyer 7/15/2019 4:13 PMI have been an environmentalist throughout my 70 years. I am now with a company, Shaklee Corporation, who became the first company in the world to obtain Climate Neutral certification, totally offsetting its carbon emissions, leaving a zero carbon footprint.
