Food Use a Reusable Mug / Collapsible Cup
Great job on getting rid of your disposable cup habit! How does it make you feel? What's next on your list to reduce your waste?

I have a collection of reusables now. Keep cold things colder, hot ones hotter. They are fun & handy to keep around. Also no sweating cups or bottles making rings on furniture. Still need to work on paper trash can liners.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Lifestyle Travel Toiletries
What is the benefit of using bar soaps or refilling your travel sized containers? Is this an action you think you will keep in your life?

Buying larger size products is cheaper. Refillable containers are cheaper than travel-sized brand containers.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Personal Care Lather Up
What are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?

Refillable bottles prevents tossing out empty containers as frequently. Also saves money buying economy sized containers.

Come on team, let's buckle down for one more week. We all love our ocean and it's many creatures who live there. Let's push just a few more days to see how much we can accomplish together! 😊

Hi VA Zoo Fans Team!  Just a friendly reminder to remember to check in every day so our impact shows on our team page! I'm sure we're doing an awesome job saving our world from plastic trash...we need to let the other teams see it! Go Team! 😉

Have you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.

Only noticed an awareness of reusable straws among the very young, most people my age (seniors) don't seem interested....yet 😉
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Buy Unpackaged Produce
Why do you think these produce products started amassing so much plastic packaging? Who is the plastic packaging really serving -- the consumer, the producer, or someone else?

The bundling allows the seller to mix over ripe and under ripe produce together. I don't want anyone picking out my fruits & veggies but me.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Lifestyle Travel Smart
How can/did you prepare to be successful in this action? Did you engage in conversation with anyone about your new habit?

When packing for a trip I fill shampoo & body wash in travel size bottles from larger ones. These small containers can go on many trips & take up much less space in my bags. 😉
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Use Reusable Utensils
How can you be an advocate for using resusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable cutlery, and how can you convince them of the need for change?

Had no reusable utensils with me at the local DQ, used a plastic spoon and felt so much guilt! Guess this challenge is really "sinking in" 🙄
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Lifestyle Natural Fibers
What are the benefits (to people, animals, and the environment) of purchasing clothes made with natural fibers?

I purchased a pair of denim-like shorts, said on the tag they were made from recycled bottles but you'd never know it, very soft & comfy!
