  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Family Plastic Free Lunch Boxes
Most of us know that the "3 R's" are reduce, reuse, recycle. Recycling is most heavily emphasized in modern Western culture. How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

While it was easy to find reusable utensils and containers for lunch, it's more challenging to find goods that don't come in plastic containers at the grocery store. I can't wait for the day inventors like Marshall Medoff can market plant cellulose (the most abundant biological material on earth) into strong but biodegradable plastic and environmentally friendly fuel.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Skip the Straw
Have you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.

Plenty of people have stopped me at movie houses as they notice I pull out my stainless steel straw and ask me where I purchased it.  Makes for a fun and educational discussion point.

    Food Use Reusable Utensils
How can you be an advocate for using resusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable cutlery, and how can you convince them of the need for change?

Fresh fruits and veggies have helped our waistlines as well.
