REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal Care Fresh as a DaisyDo some research on the toxic side affects of aluminum deodorant. After reading the side effects, can you think of instances where you may have experienced the side effects from this form of deodorant?
Karen Holderman 7/22/2019 6:34 PMWell, this isn't about deodorant, but rather other body and household products with clean ingredients, and which can be purchased at my food coop in bulk, rather than my having to purchase yet another plastic bottle of product. I can and now do buy in bulk: dishwashing soap, shampoo, body wash, and lotion. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Karen Holderman 7/17/2019 8:43 PMDid this yesterday as I put out my rubbish and recycling for pick up. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Visit the ButcherHow has using your own containers impacted the quality of the food you receive? Does this give you more awareness of where your food comes from as opposed to just grabbing a package of mystery origin cheese/meat?
Karen Holderman 7/17/2019 8:42 PMGot some salmon at my favorite local butcher, and saved on the mass of plastic used in pre-packaged fish. -
Karen Holderman 7/10/2019 6:36 PMIt’s challenging to avoid food packaged in plastic, but my housemates and I have been having the conversation and making some small, conscious choices to avoid it when there are choices (e.g. farmers market). -
Karen Holderman 6/24/2019 6:36 PMI have recently been making a conscious decision to buy fish from my butcher instead of pre-packaged in lots of plastic and/or styrofoam. The bonus is that I have the option of taking home the bones for stock!
