Socks with holes or lost mates make great tug toys for our pup. It lets us extend the life of something I would normally throw away- always a good choice. She's also not eating tiny pieces of plastic, which can't be digested and could end up as microplastics in the environment. Bits of cotton or wool are more likely to break down.

We made it to the end! Personally, I felt more connected with the program this year, and managed to check off challenges every day but one. Next year, I'll try to choose harder/higher value challenges to make a bigger difference.

I've been looking for used furniture rather than buying new for a renovation we're doing. I didn't think of that as an environmental choice, rather an economic one, but from the challenge "supporting a sharing economy," it definitely is!
