Do some research on the toxic side affects of aluminum deodorant. After reading the side effects, can you think of instances where you may have experienced the side effects from this form of deodorant?

Aluminum deodorant has been linked to Alzheimer's disease.  Build up of aluminum can effect the neurons and cause a breakdown of neural pathways.

Using the links provided, investigate the bottling practices of water corporations. There have been many cases where the water rights of the local people have been violated or even completely disregarded when a corporation decides to bottle water from a particular water source. How can you advocate for those who have been harmed by this bottling process?

refraining from using particular product or buying from a company that has poor practices is one of the best ways to make an impact on a company.  Also signing a petition or creating a petition can bring attention to a situation people do not necessarily know about work well.

What concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.

I think the biggest concern I have is the fact that effects seem to be snowballing.  I see small changes for good happening in my local area but them you see glaciers melting and the balance of nature so off balance in many areas.  I hope we are teaching the new generations ways to cope with the changes.

We had a small group cleaning but other people joined in.  It was great to have people take interest when they had other things they were going to do.

Today I signed the "Ban-Plastic-Bags in NJ" petition.  There was a lot of info, it feels good to make a difference!

My daughter and I forgot our bags and we had to run out to the car to get them, definitely helps having someone doing the challenge with you!

Have you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.

I run a teen volunteer group and have noticed the group positively point out when someone skips the straw!  Several coffee shops in the area have also come up with a "sippy top" for their cold coffee cups instead of the straw.

What are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?

The bar soaps last longer and so cost less.  My family tends to use less as well , putting too much soap on a washcloth happens a lot - not anymore:)

Great job on getting rid of your disposable cup habit! How does it make you feel? What's next on your list to reduce your waste?

I brought in a reusable mug today so I no longer need to use the paper cups that are in the break room.
