My bar soap is SO much cheaper, just as luxurious, and takes up less space in my shower :) Plus the benefit of buying a locally made soap is an added bonus!

I've found it so helpful to make me a bit more innovative when I don't even have the options of plastic bags or disposable storage as an option at home. I'm now a Grade A hoarder of glass jars which are the easiest reusable out there!

Currently most of the packaging for toothpaste is plastic. How can you advocate for more alternatives through your purchasing power and influence in community?

Purchasing toothpaste powder in a refillable glass container, or purchasing the bulk components to make our own toothpaste, Not only would this be the plastic free option but would support community businesses selling these products that are also supporting plastic free lifestyles.

Do an inventory of your kitchen to see how many single-use plastics you've used in the past. What are some resuable alternatives to these commonly used products? What would your impact be if you switched all the single-use products from your inventory to reusable?

With a small child at home, our biggest impact would be reducing single use plastic in snack and lunchtime components. We already use tupperware for loose items rather than plastic bags, but some snacks like granola bars are prepackaged in plastic. Making our own or buying in bulk would reduce our waste by a lot.
